چکیده

The foot corresponds to the body segment that allows exchange of forces between support surface and athlete's body; itsmorphology function influence quality movement alignment. Moreover, morphology can be modified according different adaptations sports cause, such as running, sport combat team sports. This work aimed define knowledge a sample athletes has about their Medial Longitudinal Foot Arch (MLA). A 119 athletes, separated into three groups (runners, players), were given self-perception questionnaire MLA. Their responses contrasted with Index (AI), which is reliable objective measurement MLA.Just 18.5% thesample able identify MLA, 67.2% stated they did not know, 14.3% erred in self-diagnosis. Combat had highest percentage who correctly identified MLA(25%). Association was found demonstrated by practiced (X2= 9.926, df = 4, p 0.04). ignorance MLAby studied presented problem consequences are unknown; this opens future research focused on study injuries caused misalignment need prescribe shoes orthoses.

Effect of plantar intrinsic muscle training on medial longitudinal arch morphology and dynamic function.

A specific training program emphasizing the neuromuscular recruitment of the plantar intrinsic foot muscles, colloquially referred to as "short foot" exercise (SFE) training, has been suggested as a means to dynamically support the medial longitudinal arch (MLA) during functional tasks. A single-group repeated measures pre- and post-intervention study design was utilized to determine if a 4-wee...

Multislice CT angiography of the plantar arch

The aim of this case report is to present a multislice computed tomography angiography (CTA) procedure for viewing the plantar arch. A CTA was requested to determine the vascular sufficiency of the plantar arch of a 64-year-old patient with necrotic and gangrenous toes. The patient had recently undergone a proximal wedge osteotomy procedure for correction of a hallux valgus deformity. A 16-dete...

Sagittal Plane Motion of the Medial Longitudinal Arch Is Unchanged in Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is characterised by pain involving the medial calcaneal tubercle that is exacerbated after periods of nonweightbearing (Tountas & Fornasier, 1996). Although the pathogenesis is poorly understood, lower limb biomechanics or foot types that result in a lowered and elongated medial longitudinal arch have been widely cited as causal factors in the development of the condition (Cor...
